1. Pickup details

Confirm the trailer on your order, pickup date and scheduled pickup time.

Double-check your reserved trailer, pickup date and scheduled time. Have your self-service access instructions ready before heading to the yard.

2. Vehicle check

Two vehicle checks: correct hitch ball size, and a matching lighting connector. Trailer-side 4-way flat or 7-way round RV-blade plugs are alternatives; use the correct adapter if your vehicle socket differs.

Before leaving home, make sure your vehicle has:

  • The correct hitch ball size for your reserved trailer.
  • Lighting connector: Your trailer will have either a 4-way flat or a 7-way round (RV-blade) plug. Make sure your vehicle has the matching socket. If it does not, bring and use the correct adapter.

Not sure which connector or adapter your reserved trailer needs? Contact us before pickup.

3. Find your trailer

Follow your gate instructions, then locate the trailer matching your reservation. This illustration is not a yard map.

Arrive at your scheduled pickup time. Follow your provided instructions to open the gate, locate your reserved trailer and verify that it is the correct one.

4. Inspect the trailer

Walk-around inspection zones: hitch, chains and wiring; fenders and body panels; tires and wheels; deck, ramps and gates.

Walk all the way around the trailer. Check the tires and wheels, fenders and body panels, deck, ramps and gates, hitch, safety chains and wiring.

Look for existing damage or anything unusual. Something doesn’t look right? Contact us before proceeding.

5. Connect safely

Six connection checks: coupler, chains, light plug, breakaway cable if equipped, jack, and ramps or gates.
  • Coupler: Fully seated on the correct ball, securely latched, and latch pin secured.
  • Safety chains: Properly attached to your tow vehicle.
  • Electrical connector: Plugged in.
  • Breakaway cable: Separately attached, if equipped.
  • Trailer jack: Fully raised and secured.
  • Ramps, gates and loose equipment: Secured.

6. Test the lights

Test running lights, brake lights, left turn signal and right turn signal.

With the trailer connected, test the running lights, brake lights, left turn signal and right turn signal.

STOP if you find damage, an unsafe connection or lights that don’t work. Do not leave the yard until the issue is resolved. Call 832-350-8080 for help.

7. Take & send 5 photos

Top-view pickup truck and trailer with five smartphones: four 45-degree arrows point to the trailer corners, and the fifth phone has an arrow pointing directly to the hitch connection behind the pickup. Left and right are as you face the direction of travel.

REQUIRED BEFORE LEAVING THE YARD

Use your cell phone to take at least five clear photos showing the trailer’s condition and its connection to your vehicle.

  • Photo 1: Front left corner
  • Photo 2: Front right corner
  • Photo 3: Rear left corner
  • Photo 4: Rear right corner
  • Photo 5: Trailer tongue connected to your vehicle

Stand back for each corner photo so the trailer’s condition is visible. The connection photo must clearly show the hitch connection, safety chains and electrical connection.

8. Ready to roll

Final check: trailer inspected, safely connected, lights working, and all photos sent.

Inspection complete? Trailer securely connected? Lights working? Photos sent? You’re ready to roll.

Drive carefully, allow extra stopping distance and remember that towing requires additional caution.
